Right now, there are hundreds of developers and publishers using PressEngine’s free account, because the platform is designed to save everyone time and money. But what does the free account get you? Here’s some important information on how we can help you, for free – you can sign-up by getting in touch.
That’s pretty good value for free, right? But what about the detail?
For every game, there’s a requirement that you have a contact email, and this is because you need to build relationships, and we shouldn’t be a wall between you and the creator or media contact. Even on our key request management page, you can message everyone who requests code, so again, you or the contact can talk to each other.
Each game has a requestkey.net short code, allowing you to share anywhere. It’s not a PressEngine URL, because you’re not promoting PressEngine, you’re promoting your games. This URL, along with the platform, will generate your requests, and we then start showing you the data to make better decisions.
For media, we show you the publication, a report on the publication, the name of the person requesting, whether they’re Metacritic or OpenCritic contributors, the latest statistics for the publication, and their review rating. This is per contact, not per publication or channel.
For creators, we’ll show you statistics for their channel as well, and we try to make this even more useful, with data aggregated from the last 30 days, so you’ll see what kind of coverage you’ll likely achieve.
For Twitch, we’ll show the average and peak viewers, but also the number of streams in the last 30 days, and their follower count, including any increase or decrease.
For YouTube, you’ll see their views, the number of videos, and the average video views, all within the last 30 days. When compared with a review rating, this makes decisions very easy.
For every media and creator account sign-up, we verify them using internal data, as well as challenging when required. For video channels, we ensure they’re the owner of those channels. However, unlike other platforms, we don’t let everyone in.
Each contact has to be active, either creating editorial, or streaming, or creating video on a regular basis, with regular engagement. Around 30% of all sign-ups for PressEngine are not approved. This helps us achieve the highest ROI on code distribution in video games, because we’re only allowing access to those that meet the requirements for admission and verification. Further to this, because we have the most accurate contact data that’s manually verified, you don’t need as many codes for PressEngine, as you would anywhere else.
For example, on Keymailer, you might need 1000 codes to achieve the same result as you would on PressEngine with 200 codes. This isn’t marketing, or a brag; it’s verifiable data. Our key-to-coverage ratio is live on the front page of our website for a reason – this ratio includes both free and paid accounts. It proves that if you design and build a platform for engagement, rather than just the ability to spray-and-pray code; the benefits to clients are significant.
We have a robust verification policy that weeds out 99% of all scammers, but for the 1% that might get through – far lower than any other platform – we have a flag system, allowing all clients to tell us if they see something fishy. On top of that, we also have some internal tools to help us manage those with low coverage rates, as well as pattern recognition technologies.
All of this for free is a great proposition especially for indie developers. The downside of our free account, is that you can’t do any outreach, you don’t have access to full data-suites for video platforms with our 1st party data access, and you can’t use our unique event booking feature for events like GDC, Summer Games Fest, or gamescom.
Access to all of that starts at £300 per month, with access to everything. We’re the only full-service PR platform with full data suites for total coverage of video, and that price offers even more value to our clients.
So, if you’d like to get started with a free account to save you time and money, get in touch.
