PressEngine Limited operates PressEngine.net. PressEngine is a marketing tool designed to allow intellectual property owners to better target the right people to send information to. It is designed to ensure all contacts within its database are contacted only for the types of products they want to hear about and not ‘spammed’ with messages. It operates a number of market analysis tools, including email distribution, IP product distribution, event management solutions and report generation.

We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy explains the basis of how we will process any personal information we collect, or that you may provide to us, through our website, pressengine.net (the “Website”). Where we decide the purpose or means for which Personal Data you supply through the Website is processed, then we are the “data controller” for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.

WHAT INFORMATION WILL PressEngine COLLECT ABOUT ME?
We collect and process the following information which may include your Personal Data.

Information provided by you when using the Website (www.pressengine.net)
You may give us information about you by filling in forms when signing up to newsletters, registering for our press list, requesting IP product or contacting us with inquiries. Such information may include:

Identity data: including your name, country, publication and e-mail address.

Your inquiry. If you contact us about the Website or any information that we provide through the Website, we may keep the content of such enquiry. You are under no obligation to provide us with any details, but if you do not provide all relevant information, we may not be able to help.

Sensitive Personal Data. We may also obtain sensitive personal data about you if you voluntarily supply it through the Website. For example, when you communicate with us via the contact page on the Website and/or contact us by email at privacy@pressengine.net. If you provide us with any sensitive personal data by any means, then we will treat that data with extra care and confidentiality in accordance with this privacy policy.

Information provided by you when using the application (app.pressengine.net)
You may give us information about you when applying for an account as a member of the press or a client user. Such information may include:

Identity data: including your name, country, publication and e-mail address.

For example, when you communicate with us via the contact page on the Website and/or contact us by email at privacy@pressengine.net. YouTube account information for YouTube content creators. In order to authenticate you as a YouTube content creator we will ask you to login to your YouTube account and provide us with a connection, using the YouTube API, to that account. We will obtain your:

  • channel ID,
  • channel name,
  • channel profile image,
  • follower count,
  • video count, and
  • view counts
for your videos and YouTube channel. This information will be presented to clients and used to enable them to decide whether to provide title review keys to you. The connection to your Google account for YouTube content creators is requested by us on a 'read-only' basis, we will never ask for permission to "manage" your Google/Youtube account or change any details of your Google/YouTube account.

You can revoke our access to your YouTube channel via this link: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions, or from your Outlet page on the PressEngine app after you've connected your YouTube channel.

By continuing to use PressEngine and connecting your YouTube Channel to PressEngine you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, which can be found here https://www.youtube.com/t/terms, and the Google Privacy Policy can be found here http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

PressEngine does not collect any data from your device when using the YouTube APIs. We do not use Google Analytics.

Twitch account information for Twitch streamers. In order to authenticate you as a Twitch streamer we will ask you to login to your Twitch account and provide us with a connection, using Twitch APIs, to that account. We will obtain your

  • broadcaster ID,
  • channel name,
  • channel profile image, and
  • follower count
for your videos and Twitch channel. This information will be presented to clients and used to enable them to decide whether to provide title review keys to you. The connection to your Twitch account for Twitch streams is requested by us on a 'read-only' basis, we will never ask for permission to "manage" your Twitch account or change any details of your Twitch account.

HOW WE WILL USE INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU

To provide the Website to you
We may use and retain the personal data you provide to us when using the Website, to pursue our legitimate interest of providing our Website to you, such as:

  • responding to your inquiries.
  • analysing and improving the Website; and
  • providing you with information and updates about PressEngine, the Website and the work that we do.

Marketing
If you ask to be added to our mailing list, we will keep you updated with news by email unless you would like to be removed from that list (in which case please let us know by clicking unsubscribe at the bottom of any marketing email that you receive. You are able to unsubscribe from individual products and the website in general).

In line with the legitimate interest we have in promoting IP, we will use any email address that you give to us via our Website to provide you with this information.

There may also be circumstances where we will ask you for your explicit consent in respect of our use of your data in which case you will be notified at the time and can withdraw your consent at any time.

Prevention of Harassment, Fraud and other Unacceptable Activity
We may process your information for the legitimate interests of ensuring that use of our Website is in line with our terms of use, is lawful and non-fraudulent, does not disrupt the operation of our Website, does not harass our staff or other individuals, and to enforce our legal rights and comply with our legal obligations, including compliance with anti-money laundering regulations (if and where applicable).

Where we suspect that you have breached our Website terms of use or have harassed our staff or other individuals, we may investigate and keep a record of such investigation and its conclusion. Where such investigation concludes that a user should be blocked from contacting use through our Website or by email, we will keep details of such user to ensure that it such block can be enforced.

We process information for the legitimate interest of complying with the Information Commissioner’s Office and GDPR requirements by retaining records of individuals.
